American Working Dog Seminar - August 29 thru September 2, 2011
Doug Roller attended and instructed at this years American Working Dog Seminar and K9 Trials t
hat were held in Denver Indiana by Vohne Liche Kennels (VLK). This event consisted of approximately seven different scenarios that were developed to test the K9 handling and tactical skills of each K9 team in all facets of Police and Military K9 work. Doug Roller also instructed on the proper use of the e-collar as well as canine field work to the attending candidates.
Doug was selected to judge one of the events during the four day trial (the obstacle course). This particular event can best be described as an IRON Man contest with a dog. It tested the physical and mental toughness of both canine and handler in protection and control, gunfire and canine control, moving thorugh challenging environments, and many other physically challenging demands during the almost 2 mile course. The event was timed with deductions for mistakes made during each problem. Following the K9 Trials VLK provided a private concert to all participating candidates and thier families put on by the rock group REO Speedwagon. The last day consisted of an Awards Ceremony and barbeque. Photographs of this event can be viewed in the photo section of this site.

On January 7th thru 10th, 2013, CNCA will be hosting their 22nd Annual Narcotics and Patrol Dog Handler Conference. CEO of Tactical K9 (Doug Roller) will be instructing on Off Leash Tactical Urban Searching. This class will provide a basic understanding of E-Collar introduction and advanced work in off leash search tactics.
