SERGEANT MIKE GOOSBY
Mike Goosby has 22 years of law enforcement experience with the Los Angeles Police Department. Mike was assigned as a K9 handler to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Metropolitan Division K9 Unit for 11 years, and served as an Assistant Trainer, for 8 years. He is a nationally recognized expert in K9 Tactics, Perimeter Containments, Command Post Operations (command and control), as well as off leash K9 search techniques. As a member of the K9 Unit, Mike’s responsibilities included the selection and training of Police Service Dogs (PSDs), and new K9 handlers. Mike was also responsible for the maintenance and problem solving training for all In Service K9 teams. Mike has worked and supervised other divisions/units within the Los Angeles Police Department, including patrol, narcotics, C.R.A.S.H., Vice, Special Problems Unit, and Community Relations. Mike is currently assigned as the Officer-In-Charge of the Gang Enforcement Detail.
Mike has conducted numerous seminars throughout North America, instructing on Perimeter Containments, Search Team Tactics, the proper use of the E-Collar (off leash control), Multi Assault Counter Terrorism Action Capabilities (MACTAC), and Command Post Operations.

Tested and Selected PSDs on K9 procurement assignments in Holland, Belgium, and Germany
Court Qualified K9 expert
